Iowa Inmate Accused of Killing Cop Back in Court

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Ia. – The Iowa inmate accused of killing a Council Bluff sheriff’s deputy while trying to escape from jail made his first court appearance this morning in Pottawattamie County.

Wesley Correa-Carmenaty was arraigned this morning in Iowa for killing Deputy Mark Burbridge and attempting to kill Deputy Pat Morgan.

Correa-Carmenaty is being held without bail by Woodbury County and is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole.
